The customer is a well-known plastics manufacturer in Brazil, producing automotive components, household motor parts, and child safety seats. To support its growing business, the company built two new production facilities and purchased two Derek Overhead Girder Tunggal for material handling operations.
Due to the limited headroom in the workshops, NULEON recommended a Single Girder Overhead Crane solution to maximize overhead space utilization and increase lifting height. Customer Requirements & Challenges
- The customer required two Single Girder Overhead Cranes with different specifications for separate production areas, meeting the requirements of lifting capacity, span, travel range, and working frequency. The equipment was customized according to the production process to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
- Due to limited workshop headroom, the customer aimed to maximize vertical space utilization and increase the effective lifting height. The crane design was optimized by reducing the overall height and adopting a low headroom electric hoist to achieve a longer lifting stroke while ensuring safe operation.
- Located in Brazil, the project required reliable electrical protection systems and a high-performance anti-corrosion coating system to withstand high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, ensuring long-term safe, stable, and efficient crane operation.

1. Customized Equipment Parameters
Based on a comprehensive evaluation of the customer's operational requirements, working conditions, and installation environment, we provided an optimized crane solution to ensure safe, efficient, and stable operation. 2. Lightweight Modular Design
This project adopts the Single Girder Overhead Crane independently developed by NULEON, equipped with a new-generation low headroom electric hoist, providing an efficient material handling solution for the customer's limited-space working environment. The crane features a lightweight and modular design concept. Through optimized structural layout, it achieves a compact structure, reduced self-weight, and optimized installation dimensions, while maintaining sufficient load capacity and stable operating performance. This design effectively reduces the load requirements on the workshop structure and minimizes infrastructure requirements.
Considering the limited headroom of the customer's workshop, the crane structure is specially designed to maximize the utilization of the available overhead space. Combined with the low headroom electric hoist, the crane significantly increases the effective lifting height. While meeting the customer's daily material handling requirements, it further improves vertical space utilization, optimizes production layout, and enhances overall operational efficiency.
In addition, the crane features smooth operation, precise positioning, and convenient maintenance, making it suitable for continuous material handling operations in industrial production environments. It provides the customer with a safe, reliable, and efficient lifting solution.
3. Reliable Protection for Stable Operation
The crane is equipped with comprehensive safety protection systems covering all key operating processes:
- Multiple protection functions, including interlock protection, overload protection, zero-position protection, and limit protection, ensure reliable operation.
- The hoisting motor is equipped with an independent air-cooling system and overheating protection, with an IP54 protection rating.
- An independent braking system with automatic wear compensation is provided. A dual braking system is available for special requirements.
- An advanced PLC monitoring system and user-friendly HMI continuously monitor equipment performance, safety status, and operating conditions, ensuring safer and more reliable load handling.
To withstand Brazil's hot and humid climate, the crane adopts an epoxy zinc-rich primer and chlorinated rubber topcoat coating system, enhancing corrosion resistance and ensuring long-term stable operation.
